Fan fair and feathers

Yesterday morning I woke up and heard this horrendous sound. At first I thought the wind was blowing my purple butterfly wind-mobile dealie and it was rusty and loud enough to wake the neighbors. A while later, I heard it again and thought I better have Dave take it down for sure, I'd kill my neighbors if they had something that noisy on their house. Yet a part of me just couldn't believe that the noise was really from that. So...in the early morning pre-dawn light, I went out to my deck and HOLY BALLS! There were at least 5 turkey's sitting on our cedar fence squawking away. I yelled at Dave to get up just to make sure they were turkey's (I've mistaken pheasants for turkey's in the past - don't ask) and sure enough, he said they were! We've since discovered that they're actually Guinea Hens and there's a group of 7 just hanging around our neighborhood, going into people's yards, getting chased by the neighbors dogs and stuff. Below is the gaggle ? of them trying out a game of horseshoes.

Below is Gracie in Oma's sink. She got a touch of the diaper rash and her big sis Kendal was sweet enough to give her a bath.

We took Monday off work and brought the girls to the Great Minnesota Get Together. They both behaved excellent. Kendal had a moment of bravery and wanted to check out the haunted house. Unfortunately, as soon as we entered, she backed out and said, "I don't want to!" I talked her through it but mostly just held her all the way with my hand over her eyes. She was a toughie, no tears from her pretty eyes.

Below the little peanut is enjoying auntie's smoothie.
And once we finally left the Midway, she was out.

The Curious George was donated by a super nice woman just walking by. She and her dude were loaded down with stuffed creatures, big and small. Gracie was fussing in her stroller a bit so the lady bent down and played with her for a moment and left George on her lap! Now how nice is that?

Pool Party!

These pictures are about a month old. It was Leo's birthday and they had a pool party at his aunt's house. Above she's splashing around with her dad.

Here she's enjoying some watermelon and pickle with mom.

This is just a couple days ago. I went to peek at her before I left for work and she looked so darn peaceful, I had to share it.

Shiner

Gracie got wounded at daycare on Tuesday. She tripped and smacked her cheekbone on a plastic teeter-totter.

She enjoys playing on the deck.

Watch out, it's a full moon!

Walking Maniac

We haven't been able to play with Skipper since Sunday cuz he hasn't returned. Dave saw him raiding the neighbors trash Monday nite so he must still be full.
I've been trying to snap Gracie walking and I finally got a few. Above you can see her marching towards me, bringing me a book to read her.

And here she's bringing me her rolly ball. The sucker rolls around on it's own and makes all sorts of wacky sounds. It still scares her once in a while and she'll run over to me and grab on and point at the ball like "Look mom, it's possessed!"

I don't usually like letting her sleep with her toys and here you can see why. She's got some leg action going on with the giant dolly and she's getting freaky with the glow worm. When I went to cover her up, her pants were actually pulled down and she was flashing some diapered butt and I should have left it for the awesomest photo ever but I wasn't actually thinking at the time that I was going to take her picture and I wasn't about to risk waking her up trying to pull her pants back down for a good snapshot. So too bad.
